I am Thankful my husband still has a job....

It is so hard to believe it will be Thanksgiving this week. A lot has happened in the last couple of months. Hayden lost his first tooth and Shayla is gaining teeth. lol Shayla is walking and getting into to much trouble. She is a full time job watching her.

We have had family visit and we have already started building memories in our new place. It is still hard to believe that we had to move and recently we visited Bend and it was hard to see our home sitting there looking sad and empty. I would like to sit down with the family and write a list of memories that we had in that house. There is a lot of memories that I would like to cherish and hold on to because the older I get the more I am forgetting. I don't like that.

It has been raining and raining and raining and raining. Kind of getting used to these gloomy days already. I defiantly have been cooking more in my crock pot which is fun and easy. The weather is predicting snow tonight in Portland. That is hard to believe. The cold is different here. It is freezing today!!

Well I want to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving and hope you enjoy your family and friends and live in the moment. I found these two quotes and thought I would share them. Love you all!!

For, after all, put it as we may to ourselves, we are all of us from birth to death guests at a table which we did not spread. The sun, the earth, love, friends, our very breath are parts of the banquet.... Shall we think of the day as a chance to come nearer to our Host, and to find out something of Him who has fed us so long? ~Rebecca Harding Davis

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Can't believe we are already into October. That saying the years fly by faster the older you get. That seems to be hitting home right now.

We are all still trying to adjust to our new life in Oregon City. I think we are getting a routine down. Hayden has a great Kindergarten teacher and is enjoying school. He is going on a field trip tomorrow to the pumpkin patch so that will be fun for him. He does miss his old school and can't wait to go back and visit his old friends. He loves when I walk to pick him up from school so he can walk home. That is really enjoyable for both. Love that we live close to his school. We have a park across the street and that has been fun walking over to the park. Hayden is also learning the rules of living in a neighborhood. He has already kicked a hole in a neighbor’s fence with a neighbor boy. Good times.

Kaelynn is adjusting to her new school. She is bummed that she wasn't able to get into an Art program because of switching schools so late in the year the Art classes were all filled up. She has a friend and that has been helping. She also has her eyes on this one boy that she is trying to get the guts up to talk to him. So cute. Kaelynn and I went to the Carrie Underwood concert and we both really enjoyed that. Trying to live the City life. I am hoping she can get into basketball for high school to make some more friends. She is working hard at her grades again. She is so awesome! So proud of her.

Shayla is finally walking!! It is about time. She isn’t walking all the time but is finally taking steps. She also thinks everybody’s name is Dada. It is super cute. She sure has a mean streak sometimes and we have to be sure to keep her claws trimmed. Watch out boys she is a feisty one. lol

Travis finally is home and won't have to go back to Bend for long stretches at a time. So we have been finally able to be a family here. This has been a big struggle for me. Travis is trying to adjust to his new work life and new surroundings and is doing great. He is a trooper with that though.

Well then there is me. Not so good with the change. I think I am finally doing better and each day is getting better. I miss the weather in Bend and miss our house. I also miss my friends and life we used to have in Bend. I guess it will never be the same. But there was a reason we had to move and hopefully the pain will go away. I do have a very good friend that lives in Portland and so that helps. We have been friends since we were six years old and now we both live in Portland so that is weird. It is weird seeing each other and saying ok see you soon. Because we would only see each other maybe once a year. Still don't have everything organized but I guess I shouldn't worry about that since we have time. lol Well anyway, here are some pictures over the summer and most recently my brother and his family came to visit and we went to the zoo and had such a great weekend with them. Hope all is well with everyone. Love ya

Miranda Lambert - The House That Built Me

Ok, I am going to get a little sappy. Travis and I and his family just went to the Oregon Jamboree in Sweet Home a couple of weeks ago and saw Miranda Lambert play. We had such a blast and would love to continue to go back every year to escape reality of life. LOL I knew her a little bit but had never heard this one song called "The House that Built Me". I sat there at the concert listening to Miranda play and actually listening to the words and I cried my eyes out. Now having to move to Portland this song is helping me get through these tough times for some reason and I just love this song!! I am sure everyone could relate to this song and if you are sappy like me you will cry listening to the words. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Love you all and we appreciate your love and support with the hard decisions our family is having to face.

My babies turned 15 & 1

Wow, another year has passed. Kaelynn turned 15 and got her first cell phone so I think she feels 15 now. She loves wolves and her presents mostly consisted of wolf stuff. Grammy is making her a wolf blanket. Just cut her hair yesterday and it turned out so cute! I will have to post some pictures of her hair cut. Today I am taking her to the fun center so she can hang out with some friends and then a couple of girls is spending the night tonight for her b-day. They are going to make sundae's and eat pizza. Typical teenagers. Shayla turned "1". We are having so much fun with her! She loves banana's. She is now giving lots of hugs and that is so enjoyable. These are some pics from their b-days. Kaelynn wanted a fat piece of steak for dinner instedad of going out somewhere and we took Shayla to Red Robin for lunch and had the people there sing to her. She didn't know what to think about that. I think she knows that I am taking pictures of her now because I caught the cutest grins on her face taking pictures at Red Robin. Enjoy!

It has been a while...

Wow, where has the time gone. I think we are going to skip summer here. Going to get down to the 30's tonight and hasn't been warm at all. I am not working again since April. I love it! Enjoying my time with the kids. Kaelynn had her eighth grade dance and I helped chaperone and that was a great time! She looked so pretty and grown up in her dress. High school next year!! Oh and to top it off, Kaelynn got straight A'S for her last report card. We are so proud of her. She blows me away with her amazing personality and smarts. I wonder sometimes is she really mine. lol Shayla started crawling around Mother's day weekend and finally has her two bottom teeth just a couple of weeks ago. She has been having drama queen fits now and you will see a video of this down below. Hayden has been having fun doing field trips with his school. I took Hayden to the community pool last week and he was so excited that he was tall enough and was able to swim to do the water slide by himself. I think he went down like 20 times!! Well enjoy the pics and I hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July!! Miss and Love you all!!
Shayla's drama queen fits

This is a hike I just did the other day with a friend and her baby that is two months older than Shayla. Beautiful hike! It is a four mile round trip hike with a 1600ft climb in elevation. We carried the kids in our backpacks. My calves are still feeling it!!

Having fun at the pool

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend at the coast. The weather wasn't great but it was great to get away for the weekend. We ate seafood until our taste buds were content. We bought 2 lbs of oysters and bbq them and we all enjoyed them. It was Hayden's first time eating them and he loved them! Kaelynn loves them as well. I only will eat them cooked. We had dinner at a really cute restaurant and enjoyed a yummy seafood dinner as well. We went to the aquarium and enjoyed our time there. Although it seemed smaller this time. We must be spoiled with the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Shayla has learned just recently how to blow razberry's. So funny. She is clapping now and almost crawling. Still no teeth. I will be done with work this Friday and I am soooooo looking forward to that. Hope everyone had a great Easter!
